- I think the focus on this issue should be addressing the underlying issues that lead to gun violence in the first place. Poverty, hopelessness, organized crime, drug abuse, lack of education, lack of economic opportunities, human nature, general human stupidity... you name it.

- Japan is right near several major tectonic plate boundaries. Heck, the entire island chain is the result of tectonic plates moving against each other. They have a long history of earthquakes. So, yeah, the odds are pretty good that they'd get another quake near the same place.
